Chase Ultimate Reward Points are probably my favorite currency at the moment. The points are so flexible and have so many transfer partners. Living on the West Coast definitely gives me some extra perks (Southwest Flights and British Airways Flights to Hawaii), but these points are truly great for everyone looking for that flexible redemption.
Your Chase Ultimate Reward Points can be redeemed in two main ways, flights and hotels. Along with that, you can redeem your points in two main ways, through the Chase Travel Portal, or transferring them to partners. Today, we are only going to cover transferring points to Airline partners.
How to transfer points from the Chase Portal
In order to transfer Chase Ultimate Reward Points from your account into a partner account, you need to login to your Chase Account. Navigate to the “rewards” tile on the top right of the page. From there, choose the drop down arrow next to the points display and then choose “Transfer to Travel Partners”.
Once you click on this, it will take you to a page that displays all the transfer partners. Please note, not all transfers are instant, so please research that before you initiate the transfer.
Flights
Chase’s main airline partners include:
- Aer Lingus AerClub
- Air Canada Aeroplan
- Air France/KLM Flying Blue
- British Airways Executive Club
- Emirates Skywards
- Iberia Plus
- JetBlue TrueBlue
- Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
- Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards
- United MileagePlus
- Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
Here are some of my favorite redemptions with these airlines:
Business Class to Europe for Only 34,000 Miles Each Way
This can be booked on Iberia Airlines or British Airways. The easiest way to find availability is by going to American Airlines, searching flights to MAD, and then booking through Iberia or British Airways’ website.
Because of Iberia and British Airways’ distance based award chart, it will be cheaper to leave from cities like Chicago (ORD), New York (JFK), Boston (BOS), or Washington D.C. (IAD).
To book this, go to American Airlines and search from one of these routes to MAD (Madrid) and look for a fare that shows up as 57.5k Miles. This fare will then show up on Iberia’s website for 34,000 Avios.
Economy Class to Europe Starting at 15,000 Miles Each Way
Air France and KLM have one of my favorite redemptions to Europe. When you start in a city like Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, or New York, you are able to get direct flights to Paris for only 15,000 points each way.
As an example, this is a flight in the middle of July. Chicago to Paris for only 15,000 miles each way, and only $65.20 in taxes and fees.
Please note: even if you don’t live in one of these places, it might be best to find a positioning flight
*Bonus Tip: If you want to see Air France’s low fare calendar, leave the dates blank, and it search!
Economy (or Business Class) to Southeast Asia on United Airlines
One of my favorite redemptions using Chase Ultimate Reward Points is actually to fly to Asia! In my opinion, it is hard to find decent redemptions to Southeast Asia unless you have AMEX points to transfer to ANA or Japan Airlines. With Chase Ultimate Reward Points, you can fly to anywhere in Southeast Asia (probably even from your home airport), for just 44k Miles + $13.70 each way. In fact, you can fly to South America for 20K miles and South Africa for 40K! Go into the United Flexible Dates Calendar and try experimenting with some destinations!
How do you earn Chase Ultimate Reward Points?
Right now, the Chase Sapphire Preferred has an elevated offer of 80k points! You can redeem every offer that we’ve spoken about here with this sign up bonus! Read more about the card here!
Have you booked any of these awesome redemptions? If so, I’d love to hear about it!
